Behind AventuresNica
Hola, I'm Cora, my friends call me Cora or Co depending on the country I'm in!
I'm passionate about travel, cooking, and discoveries. I began my adventure in tourism management at the ITHQ in Montreal, where I confirmed my passion for travel and entrepreneurship.
My first backpacking trip was at the age of 18 to Nicaragua, where I worked three jobs at once to afford the backpacking trip of my dreams. During my studies, I had the opportunity to do my internship in Nicaragua and return for a second time. Imagine, beaches, warm smiles, and culinary discoveries that will blow your mind.
After finishing my studies, you'll understand that I couldn't resist the call of this paradise and practically lived there for most of my adult life, switching between Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
I'm now back in Quebec (for a short while, hehe) with my Nicaraguan boyfriend, experiencing a sort of reverse cultural shock. Believe me, it's quite a sight to see his face during his first snowstorm and building his first snowman!
Since September, we've also been parents to an adorable golden retriever that we named Bunuelo. Bunuelo is a traditional Nicaraguan dessert, a kind of small donut served with honey.
I have a decent idea of where I'll be in 5 years, although life can bring all sorts of surprises.
But what I do know is that I'll do everything to be happy and fulfill my dream of having my own business in Nicaragua. A business that allows the rest of the world to discover a country I love through tourist trips and language immersion.
